Haiku

When attending a course with Andrew Taylor, the famous crime writer, at the Cheltenham Literature Festival several years ago, we had to write a haiku. He changed the rules slightly regarding the number of syllables there should be on each line. The bonus was that I won one of his books, A Stain on the Silence, and a gripping read it is! So, here's my haiku - can you guess which well known story it describes?

'From East she came

Petulant and proud

To cold dark moors

Behind a wall - garden.'
